Java Developer – Linux/Unix, Weblogic, RDBMS, SQL, JSP – English – Prague
This is a great role for a core Java developer with strong RDBMS skills working on Linux/Unix that is interested in working with front end development. You will be joining a new team that is being created in spring of this year. English speakers are welcome!
Join a new team in Prague for a global financial group that has expanded from 5 000 to 25 000 employees worldwide in just 9 years!! This is a great opportunity to join a newly built team of the Prague office where you will be involved in designing and developing calculation engines for the investment bank area. This will include further developing existing modules and creating new web interfaces. This is an ideal role for a core Java developer with strong RDBMS skills (Sybase, SQL, or Oracle) with interest in also focusing on frontend development using Weblogic, JSP, Tomcat or similar.
- Minimum 4+ years of active development in Java with strong RDBMS skills (ideally Sybase or SQL/Oracle)
- Interest and past experience with front end development using Weblogic, JSP, Tomcat or similar
- Strong skills with Shell scripting (Korn, C, Bash, etc.) working within a Linux/Unix environment
- Good communicator with strong English (Czech is not needed). Able to report to project managers located in the US and UK if needed.
- Attention to detail with strong problem solving skills. Able to be flexible to work extra hours if needed for meeting deadlines and complete a project as a team.
- Active learning, self motivator, eager to build a better career and move forward in development on complex systems.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Design and develop expense calculator for new data feeds
- Design and develop new web based front end for new data feeds
- Maintain and enhance existing calculators
- Maintain and enhance existing web based front end for new data feeds
- Design, develop and maintain new and existing database objects
- Develop against detailed technical specifications as well as bug/enhancement requests
