One of the best opportunities this year for a Java team lead role within a global tier 1 investment bank located in Prague. You will be responsible for setting up and maintaining a new team of 3 developers focused on design, development and testing of calculation engines used within the area of trading and investment banking. This is a core role where your goal is to be the main technical developer yet mentor a team while reporting to project managers located in the UK and US. This is a fast paced environment where meeting deadlines and working in a dynamic environment is crucial for the position.
Your profile should include:
- Minimum 4+ years of active development in Java with strong RDBMS skills (ideally Sybase or SQL/Oracle)
- Past 2 years actively leading and maintaining a team of developers as a Tech Lead
- Strong skills with Shell scripting (Korn, C, Bash, etc.) working within a Linux/Unix environment
- Excellent communicator with strong English. Able to report to project managers located in the US and UK
- Attention to detail with strong problem solving skills. Able to be flexible to work extra hours if needed for meeting deadlines and complete a project as a team.
Your main responsibilities will be:
• Lead the development team to completion of new project work and existing maintenance / enhancements
• Mentor and oversee developers in utilizing technology effectively and efficiently
• Oversee development progress per project schedules and deadlines
• Interface with Project Lead as well as Business and Testing teams.
• Design and develop expense calculator for new data feeds
• Design and develop new web based front end for new data feeds
• Maintain and enhance existing calculators
• Maintain and enhance existing web based front end for new data feeds
• Design, develop and maintain new and existing database objects
On Offer is the opportunity to be the technical team lead of the of a Java development team in Prague.
