“software as a service” company established in 2007, supported by a private Swiss funds, and producing a specialized software solution to create strong relationships between consumers, brands, and reseller networks.
The solution is of a store locator type, based on innovating technologies (Ruby on Rails, Haml, Sass, …) and it is intended for large brands disposing of a distribution network.
Clients are large companies with international point of sale networks.
European/Canadian company with office locations in Canada & France. The development team is globally distributed throughout Europe and North America and they are now looking for a Front End Developer with Ruby on Rails, Haml/Sass, JavaScript to join a young, rapidly growing team of enthusiasts using technologies such as Ruby on Rails, Template Engines, HTML, CSS, focusing on UI/UX optimization to work on products.
This is a position with an energetic development team where you will be involved, both from a technical and functional perspective, in future product conception, improvements to and the ongoing design of current products and ongoing design.
Your role will be to support the Product Director and the CTO in:
Establishing, challenging and testing new ideas and technologies
Describing software functionality and writing specifications
Maintaining collaboration between the global development teams
Code review with attention to quality control, scalability, security, and modularity/extensibility
Bring to life the works of both the code and graphical teams
Ensure interface provides the best possible UX
Test and implement the UI on every platform
Provide a bug free and high performance experience to clients
Always find the simplest and most efficient way to create a call to action
Improve the internal procedures to shorten the delivery processes
Suggest and challenge new approaches for the design and the code
Collaborate with the designers and programmers
Skills Required:
A minimum of 3 years commercial experience is essential
Fluent English is essential. Other languages are considered an advantage
Comprehensive knowledge of Ruby on Rails templates
Strong Ruby front-end language programming skills
Motivation for UI/UX optimization
Hand coding (X)HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Web Services experience
Good capabilities in writing documentation
Version Control Systems experience (GIT)
Good understanding of behavior driven development
Search engine optimization savvy
Ability to work within an international team environment,
EU passport is essential
Tools:
Template engines experience is mandatory, knowledge of Liquid is a real plus
Design capabilities are a plus

On Offer:
Excellent salary. Negotiable based on previous experience with full relocation, accommodation, insurance and travel expenses covered by the company.
Initially the role will be a 6 months contract, after which time you will become a full time employee of the company and offered a salary increase up to 10%.
Projects are ongoing as the company is eager and excited to “take over the world!” with their new revolutionary product.
Regular hands on training and further development will be provided.
You will be 2 connections away from the “founder / guru. inventor” of Ruby on Rails, given you the best source of information possible!
